Although cornetist Wild Bill Davison was 65 at the time of recording, he was nowhere near slowing down — teaming up here with fellow cornetist Tommy Saunders and his Detroit-based group, featuring trombonist Guy Roth, clarinettist Earl Stuart, pianist Danny Masouris, bassist Jim Myers, and drummer Jim Knight. Alongside the usual Dixieland warhorses are some delightful surprises including 'Jasper the Swinging Ghost' and 'Surfside Samba'. Davison is in superb, colourful form throughout.
