Recorded in New York City during August and October 1966, and produced by the legendary Creed Taylor, the album showcases Hodges' legendary gorgeous tone in peak form, backed by an all-star ensemble featuring trumpeters Snooky Young and Ernie Royal, with lush arrangements by conductor Jimmy Jones. Whether caressing a gorgeous ballad or playfully sauntering through an original blues, Hodges makes every note sing. His stunning interpretation of 'I Can't Believe That You're in Love With Me' alone is worth the price of admission.

Featuring a stellar cast including violin legend Joe Venuti, guitarist George Van Eps, vocalist Clancey Hayes, and a host of accomplished sidemen including trumpeter Ray Linn and trombonist Moe Schneider, it captures the warm, swinging magic of a real jazz party in full flow. Traditional and swing styles sparkle throughout, making this a wonderfully intimate slice of late-1960s West Coast jazz life.
