THE BYRDS - Preflyte (KC 32183)12" LP. On Colombia, this 1973 release is a collection
of pre-Byrds songs recorded before they went big time with Mr
Tambourine Man. Mainly Gene Clark songs. Lovely copy of an
interesting album. Essential for any Byrds fans. |

RICK NELSON - In Concert (DL75162)12" LP. Gatefold US release on the Decca label from
1970 of Nelson's 1969 concert at the legendary venue The Troubador,
Los Angeles. From teenage idol to country rock pioneer this album
proves Rick Nelson as an artistic musical talent. The band would
become the Stone Canyon Band and includes future founder of The
Eagles Randy Meisner, pedal steel guitarist Tom Brumley, guitarist
Allen Kemp and Patrick Shanahan on drums. Record label states
'Promotional Copy'. Jacket has some wear and two bullet holes (see
scans). A surprisingly are LP, maybe Decca had little faith in the
new direction Nelson was taking? |

RICK NELSON AND THE STONE CANYON BAND - Rudy The Fifth (MUPS440))12" LP. UK issue of this lovely country rock album from
Nelson and his Stone Canyon Band on MCA released 1971. Rick Nelson
had honed his country rock sound and kept with it, proving his
credentials as a founder of the movement. Excellent support from the
Stone Canyon Band including future founder of The Eagles Randy
Meisner, pedal steel guitarist Tom Brumley, guitarist Allen Kemp and
Patrick Shanahan on drums. |

J. D. SOUTHER - You're Only Lonely (CBS83753)12" LP. UK issue from 1979 with original insert on CBS
Records label. Original song-writer with The Eagles and ex member of
the SHF Band, Souther is your archetypical west coast singer
songerwriter, and a good one at that. |

Asylum Records label. Original member of The Eagles Bernie Leadon's
solo album featuring Michael Georgiades is a laid back acoustic
affair. |

RICK ROBERTS - She is A Song (SP-4404)12" LP. Second solo release from Roberts on the A and M
label from 1973. Ex Flying Burrito Brothers singer guitarist
supported by members of Poco, produced by Chris Hillman. Another
superb mellow country west coast effort. Has a similar feel to the
early Eagles and Poco, and late Burritos releases. Musicians
include Rusty Young, Al Perkins, Joe Walsh, George Grantham etc.
Still in shrink wrapping but open. |

RICK ROBERTS - Windmills (SP-4372)12" LP. USA release on the A and M label from 1972. Ex
Flying Burrito Brothers singer guitarist on his first solo outing.
Supported by what would become The Eagles this is a superb mellow
country west coast effort. Has a similar feel to the early Eagles,
and late Burritos releases. Musicians include Don Henley, Randy
Meisner, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Bernie Leadon etc. |

THOMAS JEFFERSON KAYE - First Grade (DSX-50142)12" LP. Released in 1974 on the Dunhill ABC Records
label, USA. West Coast country rock with a whole host of well known
musicians helping out: Richie Furay, Tim Schmit (Poco), Donald Fagan
(Steely Dan), Rick Derringer, Dean Parks, Dusty Springfield (the UK
singer!) and others. Kaye would be better known as the producer of
Gene Clark's seminal work 'Echoes'. Has the original insert. Jacket
has small bullet hole. |

Colombia label, USA. 1977 release from country rock aided this time
by Andrew Gold and Dan Fogelberg and other west coast luminaries.
Nice west coast fare not without its moments. Band was formed out of
Dan Fogelberg's backing musicians. With original insert. |
