FLAMIN' GROOVIES - Now (SRK7059)

12" LP. UK release from Brit-rock pop enthusiasts from 1978. One of the best later Groovies releases with Chris Wilson and Cyril Jordan fronting the band. Not to take anything away from the rest of the band who are Mike Wilhelm, George Alexander, David Wright and on some tracks Dave Edmunds, who also produces. Rock and roll as the Beatles should have been. This version of the LP has a total of 14 tracks, 2 more than other issues. This being the UK release which included two superb extra tracks : "When I heard Your Name" (recorded in 1973) and a cover of "Blue Turns To Grey". Comes with lyric insert.

12" LP. Flamin' Groovies 'direct to metal mastering' release from Australian label AIM. No date but must be late 1980s. Recordings however were made at the Rockfield Studios in 1972. Contains such classics as Tallahassie Lassie, Slow Death, Shake Some Action and 4 more. Chris Wilson on vocals. Bonus is the 'banned' Teenage Head Comic Book in mint condition.

12" LP. Ex- Flamin' Groovies lead man and vocalist Roy Loney branching out with his own rock and roll combo. A 1979 release on the Californian label Solid Smoke. Total of 12 tracks including Born to be Your Fool, Rockin in The Graveyard, San Francisco Girls etc. This was the first Phantom Movers album and according to Roy Loney (in 2005) it was "...an absolute follow-up to Teenage Head. It seems like a natural progression, the next step. A little new-wave-y maybe... Out After Dark may be the best thing I've ever done."
