12" LP. Classic salsa original Fania Records release from 1972. Willie Colon at his badass best, with Hector LaVoe on vocals. Every track a classic slice of salsa music. 8 tracks including: Ghana'e, Pa' Colombia, No Cambiaré, Sigue Felíz, Barrunto, Abuelita, Panameña, Canción Para Mi Suegra. Slight staining on bottom edge of jacket, but a good copy nonetheless. Stereo issue. Brilliant LP cover by designer Izzy Sanabria.

WILLIE COLON - El Baquine De Angelitos Negros (JM 00506)

12" LP. Original Fania Records release from 1977, gatefold LP. Something of a diversion for Willie Colon but an important one in that he took salsa music to the world of concept albums. This original soundtrack to a movie ably demonstrates Colon's musical ability and inventiveness. Features Victor Paz on trumpet, Alfredo De La Fe on solo violin, Lewis Kahn on trombone and a wealth of other musicians. 12 tracks including: Angustia Maternal, Camino Al Barrio, Son Guajira Del Encuentro, Angelitos Negros Pt 1, Angelitos Negros Pt 2, Para Los Viejitos, 8th Avenue (In The Park), El Baquine and others. One of Colon's harder to find LP releases.
