Somewhat under appreciated in the salsa music world Mario Hernandez has been playing salsa since the 1940s! An extraordinary tres and cuatro player he moves from Puerto Rican jibaro music to straight salsa with ease. Here he, and his Los Diablos Del Caribe, play some excellent son montuno and salsa, including the track Pa Celia Cruz. Septeto Nacional were one of Cuba's oldest and foremost groups; here pianist and arranger Alfredo Valdes junior re-interprets their music in his own style. Sweet arrangements and playing from some of the finest musicians including as well as Aldredo on piano, Chocolate Armenteros on trumpet, tres player Charlie Rodriguez and others.
