 |  | | 12" LP. A 1978 release from Peru, origiasnlly on the Velvet label, this pressing is from the Peruvian label Infopesa. Rare debut(?) LP from a band formed in Venezuela, Nuestra Orquesta rivaled Dimension Latina, Oscar D'Leon etc, forming at a high point in 1970s salsa in Venezuela. "In 1978, allegedly for economic reasons, seven of the musicians who formed the template of Salsa Mayor Oscar D'Leon (Leo Pacheco, Alfredo Padilla, Miguel Pacheco, William Puchi, Felipe Blanco, Jose "Pipo" Perez and Henry Camba), decide to separate to form another group initially to be named the Salsa Supreme, but ultimately decided to keep the name of "Nuestra Orquesta Salsa Mayor", this of course, brought a huge legal battle with the devil Salsa Oscar D'Leon, who by the way very quickly assembled by a new orchestra..." Whatever the histroy this is salsa at it's best. Criollo Records was part of Latin Percussion Ventures. 2 trumpets, piano, percussion etc making for some excellent salsa. 8 tracks including: Cache, Margarita, La Carta, Tanto Esperando, Aprovechalp Maria, Por Que, Verdad, No Vayas a Pensar.
