ROBERTO MAZA WITH THE AFRO-CUBAN FOLKLORE ENSEMBLE OF ALBERTO ZAYAS - Guaguanco Afro-Cubano (LP-2055)
12" LP. USA Panart release no date but maybe 1960s. Brilliant album of
Cuban music, the Afro-Cuban percussion group being led by Alberto Zayas (aka
Alfredito Zayas and El Melodioso). Roberto Maza is the singer and as well as
the monster percussion the instrumentation includes trumpet, tres, piano etc.
Heavy rumba recording: guaguanco, yambu, coumbia etc. Panart label on
record is the early black one. 12 tracks including: El Vive Bien, La China
Linda, El Yambu De Los Barrios, Una Rumba En La Bodega, Congo Mulenze and others. Nice copy
of a rare record. Jacket open but still in shrink. Open edge a little
dulled.
