 | | | 12" LP. No date but looks 1950s or early 60s release of a stunning album. Manufactured in Mexico and released on the Orfeon label. . This LP being released first in Mexico and then re-issued several times (with alternative titles) in the USA and Colombia. Later issues have variant titles such as 'Afro Ritmos Afrocubanos Tambores Batá', and with Girardo written as Giraldo. It is very likely that this is a first issue, or at the very least an early issue. All that said the LP has 12 tracks of authentic and powerful Afro Cuban percussion. Tracks include Eleggua, Oggun, Drume Negrita, Yemaya, Babalu Aye etc. Vinyl looks hardly played and in great condition, jacket is good condition with only minor splits and a little staining. "..The Orfeon company has to be credited for having produced a great, important record of historical significance. The ensemble of Giraldo Rodríguez plays with a high degree of accuracy and precision. The swing on certain tracks and passages is exemplary... ... The sound quality of the recording is remarkable..."
